Three helpful hints that I learned from this book include using metacommentary to further explain my ideas so that they are not misinterpreted, and I can incorporate this into my working draft by using the templates given to help reiterate my ideas. Second, I want to use the tips given about transitions to help not only my paragraphs flow, but also my sentences. To do this I will look at each of my sentences and make sure that they connect to the sentence before and the sentence after. The third helpful hint from this book was to introduce quotes by using signal verbs. I plan on going back through my paper to make sure that I never say “X says…” and to make sure that my signal verbs are strong and create the mood I want in my audience.
